Like all of you, we at Springfield Contemporary Theatre have been closely following the COVID-19 outbreak. The health, safety, and well-being of our staff, artists, volunteers, audiences and our fellow Springfieldians has been and continues to be our top priority, and with that in mind, SCT is suspending operations until further notice. Our box office and business offices will be closed effective immediately.

It is our plan to produce The Cake as soon as the CDC clears the way for activity to return. At this point, we can't predict when that will be. As we previously stated, we hope to be presenting this production in June 2020, but only time will tell. We have a remarkable cast in place that are eager to share this great story with audiences.
It also looks as if our May production of Parade will be postponed to our 2020-2021 season. We also hope to reassemble the cast of SCT Sings Burt Bacharach as soon as we are able.
For those who have already purchased tickets to any of these events, we are happy to do what is possible to take care of your ticketing needs. For any Flex Pass holders, tickets already reserved for The Cake or Parade will automatically be released and put back on your Flex Pass. For paid single ticket purchases for The Cake or SCT Sings Burt Bacharach here are available options:
Note: Depending on whether you order online or through the box office, a full refund will end up costing SCT $4-$5 (online) or $1.50-$2.50 (box office). Ticketing fees and credit card processing fees have already been paid from your purchase. While we are happy to refund ticket orders in full, we just want patrons to know that as a small non-profit any consideration is appreciated.
As our box office will not be re-opening this week, we encourage patrons to contact us via e-mail at SCTheatreMO@gmail.com with instructions on which option they would like to use. Flex Pass holders don't need to contact us regarding tickets reserved on their passes. In your e-mail please include:
As we all navigate this situation together, we’re reminded that the heartbeat of our community is shared moments of creating or experiencing theater together. While nothing can fully replace those in-person connections and conversations that live theater and gathering together sparks, we’re working diligently and creatively to bring audiences productions as soon as it is deemed safe.
We appreciate your continued support and your understanding as we make these difficult decisions in the best interest of our city, our team and our community. Please take care of yourselves and each other.
