ROE
By Lisa Loomer, Directed by Rachel Jamieson
Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 case that legalized abortion, is still fiercely debated over forty years later. In this incisive play, acclaimed writer Lisa Loomer cuts through the headlines and rhetoric to reveal the divergent personal journeys of lawyer Sarah Weddington and plaintiff Norma McCorvey ("Jane Roe") in the years following the fateful decision. In turns shocking, humorous, and poignant, Roe reflects the polarization in America today while illuminating the heart and passion each side has for its cause. Contains adult language and content. Southwest Missouri premiere.

ARCADIA
By Tom Stoppard, Directed by Robert Bradley
Romantic, funny, and profoundly moving, Tom Stoppard’s meticulously crafted masterwork invites you to unravel the big and small mysteries of the universe at bucolic Sidley Park. There, the intricate interplay of past and present is equally driven by fierce intellectual curiosity and the fickle passions of the human heart. Arcadia has the brain-tingling mixture of language, literature, science and history one expects from playwright Tom Stoppard, but this very funny and sexy play aims for the heart as well as the head.

HEDDA GABLER
By Henrik Ibsen, A New Version by Patrick Marber, Directed by Jeffrey Mindock
Just married. Already bored. Hedda longs to be freed. In this classic play by A Doll’s House playwright Henrik Ibsen, gender norms within the institution of marriage clash with a woman’s desire for independence. Hedda confronts whether power, or even equality, is within her grasp as a woman, a question whose answer remains uncertain for many today. The immediate relevance of Ibsen’s classic becomes striking in this bold, modern minimalist approach.

EVERY BRILLIANT THING
By Duncan Macmillan, with Jonny Donahoe, Directed by Jack Laufer, Starring Nathan Shelton
Laughter is the antidote to all things. When mom is depressed, a young child sets out to assemble a list of all the things that make life wonderful. From “ice cream” to “sunshine” to “laughing so hard milk shoots out your nose.” Soon the list takes on a life of its own. Told in collaboration with the audience, this uplifting story explores resilience, and the lengths we will go for those we love. “One of the funniest plays you’ll ever see about depression—and possibly one of the funniest plays you’ll ever see, full stop” - The Guardian. Southwest Missouri premiere.
