A unique and imaginative theatre piece comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways, but continued to share confidences. As the actors read the letters aloud, what is created is an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always telling pair of character studies in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what is actually written down.

Audience members will be invited to meet the cast, following each performance, at a complimentary champagne and chocolate lobby reception. Reserved seat tickets go on sale January 10.

Inertia Dance Company takes to the stage of Springfield’s Vandivort Center Theatre with an exciting program of dances by MSU faculty Ruth Barnes, Darryl Kent Clark and Carla Williams. The program will include Barnes’ haunting “Slippages”, Clark’s sinuously wry “Ponderings Upon A Pear with Prickly Heat” and Williams’ stark and eloquent “The Transformative Properties of Grief.” Proceeds from these performances help fund the Inertia Dance Company’s travel expenses for a company performance later this year in Chicago.

Featuring such memorable songs as “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina,” “Oh, What a Circus” and “High Flying, Adored,” Evita creates an arresting theatrical portrait as complex as the women herself.
